I only used these headphones / earphones / earbuds once before they fell out of my pocket unnoticed, never to be seen again.
However, I did receive a call on my iPhone 3g during that time and the mic worked fine. I can’t review the sound quality of the speakers or the mic as I didn’t use them long enough to pay attention and receive feedback from callers.
One more thing of note: I thought I was buying headphones with a mic and remote, but these only come with the mic – no remote. I think they say as much, but I didn’t pay attention. However, I now have learned that Apple headphones with mic and remote aren’t compatible with the iPhone 3g (the remote doesn’t work on iPhones before the 3gs).

I did not identify the lack of volume control in the product description before buying two pairs. While I can start/end calls, initiate voice control and start/end iTunes, I cannot control volume. Same on me for not picking up that detail. Use of “OEM (Original) Apple Headphones…” item title is somewhat misleading given the lack of volume control built into the original headphone that accompany a new iPhone. Will use as spare set, but will likely buy the ‘real’ ones from Apple. Would not buy these again.

Pros: I’ve had no problems with the sound quality of the headphones and mic.
Cons: These headphones have only a single button, the one that pauses songs on normal iPhone headphones: the two volume control buttons are missing.
Other thoughts: You should still shop around for these headphones before you buy. I found ChiTek selling these exact headphones at two different prices (And I ended up buying the more expensive one). I’d recommend just getting OEM (Original) Apple Headphones Handsfree Headset with Jack Mic for AT&T Apple Iphone 3G instead since it’s (currently) cheaper. Of course, that’s only if you don’t mind losing the volume buttons to save some money. If you do mind, you’ll probably have to buy your headphones from Apple and pay full price. Personally, I wish I spent the extra money and got the headphones with volume control from Apple.

Item arrived on time! Earpiece works superb! Mic feature doesn’t work at times. Pretty disappointing for an apple product as specified.
