    Hi Charles

  4. drakiepoo says:

it should act like a normal stand-alone GPS, provided the device has the chip. otherwise i would imagine it would have to use an address you typed in and work over the cell network or wifi

Does one using google maps on an adroid phone need to pay charges?
Or is it like normal stand alone gps units on cars where you don’t have to pay for any charges?

LMFAO. The sushi place right by my school’s called Zen! I’m eating there this Sunday! Hahahaha! :D

  7. FezTube11 says:

That’s pretty legit. I doubt anyone REALLY needs this, and they already have phones with GPS in them, but it’s still neat. I don’t know about the price, though, lol. :)

A couple things that annoy me about Google Maps on Android..

    1. No Google Transit, only driving directions.. makes it practically useless in San Fran.
    2. No compass. It would be nice it it had a built in compass that told me which direction I was facing. I know for a fact the android has compass capabilities!
    3. When I search a location, touch the balloon I get.. “Zoom in to address”, “Directions to this address,” etc. no auto street view???? Switching to streetview automatically zooms out. AH!

  16. nicomalta says:

My Google Maps works perfectly, and shows exactly were I am

  17. thebeatinginthedamme says:

wtf my street view doesnt work i got my g1 today and my location is miles of my house!

  18. jasonbsa says:

i got this phone on the first day and now im at my house it is like 4 miles off

  19. shaeguitar says:

u have to have a data plan or prepaid data

  20. meipand says:

Remember iphone and G1 provide online store which is very convenient, which wm til this 6 version already still no such service

  21. pezpet says:

just because windows mobile has 1 similar feature doesn’t make it equally as good.

  22. cruzernator says:

Hold that thought on the G1 folks. Windows Mobile OS will create a similar version of that Google street view feature soon. Don’t waste your money on the G1, looks like a useless device!

  23. mossmad says:

If i was to get this or the LG Renoir on pay as you go can i still use the GPS maps? or would it cost?

  24. millerwaf says:

g1 is tha best phone out

  25. Mus1cFr3ak24 says:

    I LOVE THE G1!!! I MIGHT GET ONE!!!1
